Fairfield Center School is pleased to introduce its middle school blog. The purpose is manyfold. Students need a way to easily and frequently be published. Students and the school have news to share. Students get to demonstrate their skills in areas that interest them and get feedback from more than just their classroom. Students need a venue for using technology skills they are learning.
We hope to stimulate discussion about things that matter to Fairfield. Fairfield is 250 years old. This deserves celebration. Part of this is looking at the history of Fairfield, in events, people, architecture and establishments/organizations. We can put Fairfield on the map, quite literally, by posting pictures and links that celebrate the great things about Fairfield.
I want to hear how students want the blog to work so I am prepared to start the blog, and as students demonstrate the skills and motivation, allow them to fill it with their work, control what it looks like and determine what gets published.
As you can see, the emphasis is on the students. This blog’s goal is to publish student work and hopefully receive comments from the community that will encourage and motivate our learners.
